Local resident and owner Laura Summers opened the Sun-Up Bakery in July of '95. It began as a small business greeting early risers with hot coffee, sumptuous pastries and fresh bagels.

The coffee at the Sun-Up comes in great variety. International Organic flavors from Sumatra, Peru and Guatemala add exotic touches while Cappuccino and expresso (also made from organic beans) give a metropolitan flare.

Sun-Up makes the region's best sandwiches on fresh homemade breads. Laura has created both a vegetarian's fantasy and turkey-lovers paradise.Definitely a far cry from the well know run of the mill deli sandwich, these tasteful will satisfy anyone's appetite.

It would be shameful not to mention the great variety of New York bagels that are baked fresh each morning. Everything from poppyseed to cinnamon rasin to well....everything.

Then of course there are the treats. Mouth-watering pastries are made fresh with seasonal fruits. Maple muffins add Vermont charm while overstuffed blueberry muffins and strawberry scones steam from the oven. Plain and cheese filled croissants make choices impossible. Coffee cake and fresh rolls add to the glorious sights in the glass counter. Chocolate chip cookies are baked daily and temp everyone's taste buds while specialty cakes are made to order. The tasteful delights at the Sun Up are endless.
